The Ferreira Dias Secondary School, Agualva-Sintra (ESFD), built in 1960,is part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Sintra Municipality, Parish of Agualva Mira Sintra.
The School operates on both day and night schedules, with a diverse curriculum offering, allowing students with different ages, profiles and expectations towards the School, find in it a place of full integration.
Currently, the school has students from 39 different nationalities from 5 continents.
The school has students in the third cycle of basic education and in secondary education making a total arround 2 000 students.
The students of the secondary education are mainly in the Scientific-Humanistic areas (Sciences and Technologies, Visual Arts, Languages ​​and Humanities and Socio-Economic Sciences), with more expression in the area of ​​Sciences and Technologies.
It has also been a strategic bet of the School to offer Level 4 VET Courses, for completion of secondary education and focused on the integration of young people into the labor market, counting today with 19 (nineteen) classes, which corresponds to a percentage of about 30% of the classes of daytime secondary education.
In fulfilling its mission, "Promoting Educational Success in a School of Quality", ESFD associates appropriate learning methodologies that promote the development of skills who enable the learners towards the moral and social values ​​that drive them and raise awareness of the importance of sustainable growth and peace (EU 2020 priority objectives).
