Srednja škola Hrvatski kralj Zvonimir, Krk, Croatia

Srednja škola Hrvatski  kralj Zvonimir  is one of the most important institutions on the island of Krk, Croatia. Throughout its history of  95 years, the school has undergone many changes, but has always played a significant role in shaping  the island's development and future.

Today students can choose among three and four-year vocational training (mechanics, plumbers, cooks and waiters, tourism and economics) or grammar school which gives them good foundation for college. This year our school has 327 students in 19 classes, with 53 employees, 44 of which are teachers.

The school building comprises specialized classrooms, two gyms and a playground, kitchen / restaurant and mechanics training areas. Each classroom is equipped with a computer, LCD projector and screen. Activities, performances and events take place in the main hall, library and elsewhere. The surrounding area has some fruit trees, an olive grove and a small Mediterranean garden.

We are experienced in various environmental projects on the national and European level and we are member of Eco school community. We have also successfully participated in projects promoting our cultural and historical heritage.

For the most innovative volunteering model in secondary schools in Croatia National Foundation for Civil Society Development awarded our school  with “School – friend of the community".

Our school has been awarded  with the title "School Ambassador of the European Parliament" since 2016 and since 2018 we also won the title of eTwinning School.
